Bodybuilding Sausage Gravy

Introduction

Biscuits & Gravy is a home cooked staple that most of us just give up in a pursuit of health & wellness. This recipe really hits home. I like to use homemade pork sausage (made w/ trimmed pork sirloin) but you can use a lean turkey sausage as well.

Bodybuilding Sausage Gravy

Steps

  1. Cook Sausage in a medium fry pan (no added oil or fat)

  2. Whisk Flour into skim milk (I like to use a shaker cup and shake it until its mixed the way it needs to be)

  3. Pour flour & water mixture into skillet on medium low heat

  4. Season w/ salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and sage to taste

  5. Simmer while whisking until thickened

Ingredients

  1. 8 oz pork sirloin sausage (or lean turkey breakfast sausage)

  2. 4 TBSP Flour

  3. 16 OZ Skim Milk

  4. Salt-to taste

  5. Pepper-to taste

  6. Red Pepper Flakes-to taste

  7. Sage-to taste


**For additional protein (to meet my protein requirements for the meal I'll cook up some egg whites with the meal.  I'll then put the egg whites on my biscuits and then cover with gravy.  1 cracked egg white = 3.6 grams of protein or 42 grams liquid egg whites = 5 grams protein.
