Self Sabotage
We all know those people that have been large since you first met them and have constantly been on a weight loss journey. The big girls that have busted their ass in the gym for 8 years but never lose any weight or make any progress. They have worked for the same thing for the last 10 years but yet are the same as they've always been! Why is this and is this you?
Chain of events
1. Hit the gym like an absolute maniac because hard work pays off right? Hits gym so hard they cannot recover from the workouts and are absolutely thrashed after a week. Gotta go #beastmode....
Stop cold turkey eating 90% of the food they typically eat going for the "clean eating approach." They do this until they've restricted enough, feel like shit enough, and just can't handle it anymore and then it's off to the races eating the same old shit like crazy!
3. Get back to the gym and punish yourself because THIS time you won't be weak and lose your way.
4. Rinse, Rather, Repeat!
WHY YOUR GAINS ARENT COMING
1. You don't have medium to long term plan for your workouts. You have to go #beastmode right? You realize #beastmode isn't trainwrecking yourself for a handful of workouts and then not working out for 3 weeks again don't you? #beastmode is doing what you are supposed to do regardless of how you feel or what excuses you think up. Doing what you're supposed to do when the motivation has worn off and you're tired, grumpy, hungry, sore, have a headache, or whatever the excuse may be is what #beastmode is.
2. You work so hard that you trash yourself in a limited time without building into it enough to be consistent. To top it off you aren't sleeping enough, eating enough, or being consistent enough with any of these things to recover and see progress. The hardest part of the weight loss journey is THE 22 hours a day outside of the gym! And it's fighting the urge to do all the crap everyone else wants to do! You shouldn't be drinking, shouldn't be staying out late, and can't go out to eat five guys or whatever it is with your buddies!
Reduce the temptations, make a plan in the gym, set the goal, and BURN THE BOATS! Do yourself the favor and do 100% what it takes to reach the goal. Stop thrashing yourself in the gym and sabotaging your progress at night! There is no out training a bad diet so find out what you can consistently do to create a calorie deficit and make a plan.
